After arrival worked in various country areas. 1932 purchased poultry farm at Gosnells. 1941 - 43 served in WWII as Sergeant in Australian Military Police Force while wife Mysie managed farm single handedly. Late 1940's converted property to a dairy farm named Royston Guernsey Stud, a tribute to his English origins.
