George Mumford and family arrived in WA in 1913. Their 2 sons William and Gilbert died while in quarantine in Fremantle. Another son Stanley was born in 1914 and George passed away in 1916.

William and Gilbert both died from measles and double pneumonia on 12 Feb 1913 at Woodman Point Quarantine Station and are buried at Fremantle Cemetery. Their memory lives on in the telling of the quarantine station's sad history. They were just 2 and 4 years old. RIP
