Thomas Mulligan was born in Cork Ireland and orphaned at aged 4. Sailed for Fremantle at aged 18 working as a cabin boy to pay his fare. In Perth worked as a Compositor with the West Australian. Married Ellen McLann and had 4 children:Ellen, Nora, John & Frank.
