Mr Morelli took up sugarcane growing in 1914 and was among the first farmers to supply the Babinda Sugar Mill. There were three daughters; Emma, Elisa and Sylvia and a son, Dino. Dino achieved distinction as Professor of Engineering Design at the California Institute of Technology.
