Born in the year of WA's foundation, George Moffat arrived in Fremantle as a convict. Moffat overcame this humble beginning, married an Irish Catholic girl, and produced 6 children. One son, Alf Moffat, became Official Receiver, President of the WAFL, and member of the first WA cricket team.
