Leila's family lived in Sydney. Brother Albert born & later returned to England. Leila was born & came back to live in Kalgoorlie where father Joseph Marie Michel was working on the goldmines. Handwritten disembarkation list for Albany has her French surname incorrectly spelt (Mickel). Leila was a horsewoman of note & a WWI "Snapshots from Home" photographer.
