Originally set sail from Salonika & after arriving in Fremantle, anglicised his name from Dimitrios Mitropoulos. Met & married May Fawcett in Fremantle, later moving to Jolimont. They ran a successful family dry cleaning business until his death in 1977. May and 7 of their 8 children are still living.
