Karl & Maria migrated from Austria with their infant daughter Kersten. They finally arrived at Bonegilla Immigration Camp approximately 10km from Wodonga & thought they had landed in the 'wild west'. Facilities in country Victoria were very basic & in comparison extremely primitive from what they had left behind. Karl found work in the district & the family settled in Wodonga. In 1957 they had a son, Charles Bruno. Karl still resides in Wodonga 51 years later which is now a large, modern inland city.
