The Meissler family survived 3½ yrs in a Japanese Concentration camp in Java during WW2. With all the political unrest in Europe & Holland, they decided to come to Perth with only summer clothing, no job, no English & sharing a house with another family. Life was very difficult for a while. The lovely weather and the beautiful peaceful places around Perth kept them all here to this day.
