Gilbert McKinnon left Glasgow and arrived in Fremantle in 1929 to join Mary Kerr They married in 1935, built a home and had two daughters, Heather and Ronalda. Gilbert worked as an electrical fitter at the WAGR workshops in Midland for 35 years. He was very happy in his new country,
