Built house in Campbell Rd. William, a lay Preacher, was Home Missioner on Great Southern Railway 1893-1896. Returned to Albany as a Builder/Carpenter. Esther had a dairy, 1 daughter and 3 sons. William was on the Albany Council for three terms from 1901 and was Mayor in 1911. Took up land at Napier in 1908 and moved there in 1920. William was on Roads Board for 14 years and was Chairman for 7 years.
