Carmela began life in the Swan Valley in 1938. In 1941 she married Petar Marinovich and had four daughters and looked after her family. She helped new migrants by interpreting and volunteer work for the Immigration Dept and Osborne Park Hosp. Later she successfully played bowls and kept busy doing handiwork.
