John Luff came to Fremantle as a convict (Convict 98). In 1852 his wife Mary Ann and three children, Elizabeth, John and Mary Charlotte arrived on the 'Anne Maclean'. John and Mary had three more children, Thomas, Harriet and Peter. The family farmed a small property which they leased in Bicton. He died in an earthfall at Bicton while sinking a well for a neighbour.

  • John Luff died in tragic circumstances. He died in a cave-in whilst digging a well in Bicton.

  • Sadly his wife died not long after, I often wonder what happened to those little children.
