After serving in WW2 Paul Luckas found himself a refugee. Seeking a new start with wife Gunda and their 18 month old daughter Solweig, he was told Australia was looking for skilled workers. They boarded the Castel Verde bound for Melbourne but disembarked at Fremantle. After hours of waiting they were given their 10pounds each and boarded a train for the Northam Camps.
