Roy and Anne Lourens migrated from South Africa in 1963. Gillian & Geoffrey arrived as children with them. Alan was born in Australia. Roy was later Professor, Director and Vice Chancellor. Anne became National Director of SCA.

You taught me Accounting 1,2 and 3 UWA from 1967-1969.
I joined Coopers and Lybrand Perth in 1969 as an article clerk.CA in 1972.
Joined Coopers and Lybrand Kuala Lumpur 1972 as Audit Manager. In 1997 joined Blue Circle Group PLC based in Kuala Lumpur. Group Financial Controller.
Migrated to Perth 1988. Walked into a recession married with two infant children.
Back to the profession for two years, everyone said I do not have WA experience. Just missed Group FC Wesfarmers (Michael Chaney was there)
Joined a small business group in Welshpool. They went into liquidation, and I thought, Hell here we go again.
I made a deal with the liquidator and did a management buy out of the business that I still work for, 19 years.
I made full use of my knowledge and experience. Will never forget you, and thanks for your guidance.
