Migrated to employment with Brisbane City Council as a town planner. After living in Sydney & Hobart the family moved to Perth in 1959 where John was Town Planning Commissioner until 1972. Ida was WA Senior Citizen of Year 2000 and received Australia Medal 2002 after 40 years of community work eg Girl Guides Australia - Britain, National Council Women, Association for the Blind.
