The Lessnaus arrived in Fremantle, March 1954 on the SS Skaubryn from Bremen, Germany. Second stop was Melbourne, Victoria on the 13 March 1954. There were settled in a Migrant Camp in Bonegilla, Victoria. Afterwards, the family boarded the Trans-Continental Railway to Fisher, Nullabor, in South Australia. Paul worked on the railway for 6 months and then they left for Perth and settled in Safety Bay, WA.
