Ryszard travelled with his family at age 2, leaving Germany after the war. Went by train from Attenstat to Naples - Aiden. Sailed by ship to Australia, Anna Salen had to return to Port with engine problem. Ship Skaugum arrived in Fremantle 1950. Then taken by bus to Northam 'Holding Camp' where they stayed and worked, settling in Albany 50 years ago.
