We came here as 10 pound poms, nominated by the Virgo family of Bassendean, Dad got a job at a Midland butchers, then later they both worked at Fairbridge farm school as cooks, it was a great life in a new country. They never went back to England for a visit.

Hello Rosemarie
My name is Charles Leon and I am trying to locate some of my lost relations.
My father’s name was Arthur Jesse Douglas Leon and my mother was Barbara. My father had five brothers, one of his brothers was Ernest George Leon who was married to Gwendolyn May. In 1959 George and Gwendolyn emigrated to Australia with their daughter Rosemarie who would have been 6 years old at the time. I understand they arrived in Fremantle in Western Australia and lived in Bunbury, Western Australia for many years where they became Café owners. I believe that my mum and dad were in touch with George and Gwendolyn up until Dad died in 1987 and mum died in 1989.
It is possible that we may be cousins and if you believe that is probable I would like to continue to communicate with you. Last year my wife and I visited Australia and had lunch in Bunbury on our way back to Perth from Dunsborough, my daughter now lives in Perth by the way.
