Arrived W.A with brother Gearld de Courcy. 1846 took up land at Walebing.1849 Private Secretary to Governor Fitzgerald. Married Mary Bruce 1852. Colonial Treasurer 1856-1890. Five children: Henry Bruce, Anthony Langlois, Mary, Dorothea Jane, Emily Elizabeth, Henry Bruce Premier of WA 1917/1919.
