Arthur and Mary arrived in Fremantle with five children, Harold 10yrs, Montague 8, Violet 6, Arthur 5 and Sydney 2. Arthur worked for the Railways in Perth. Later transferred to Golden Ridge near Kalgoorlie. In 1922, they moved to Walgoolan near Merredin, being pioneer farmers of that district in the wheatbelt.
