Read their story

$10 in pocket and a change of clothes, this basket-maker (22) journeyed alone. At Fremantle wharf he drew from the hat, a tree clearing job at Kojonup. He endured tent life, snakes & the struggle for wages. So began his love of Australia. His wages supported his mother, brothers and sisters and he returned to them in 1931. Aged 45 with wife Marjory, David and Anne he returned to make Australia his home.
