Roy (Bob) Lavery was originally from Carrickfurgus in Northern Ireland. He moved to the North of England as a youngster and later met Brenda (nee Cooney), a native of Accrington, Lancashire. In an inspired move, they migrated to Perth in 1972, for which their two children will be eternally grateful.
