Read their story

An educated couple, Lucien first assigned to Wittenoom asbestos mine, while Maria resided in Perth with beloved only child, Lydia, aged 6. Beset by tragic early death of Lydia to rheumatic fever, just 9 months after arrival. Later, working long hours, established in Fremantle a popular European smallgods store (Lango's Foods), which became a local landmark in the 1960's and early 70's, earning Lucien and Maria stature as respected Fremantle identities.
