Maria La Rosa was on one of the first Italian migrant woman to settle in Fremantle. As a result she provided a home, support and refuge to the many young, teenage male migrant Italians who came to work in Fremantle. Is still remembered by them as someone who nurtured them and helped them survive the challenges of migration.
