Read their story

Valerie was a student in Russia and a prisoner-of-war in the German Labour Camps (1943-45) before immigrating to Australia in 1949 with her husband, son and mother. She was a pre-primary schoolteacher in Perth and received the Inaugural Subiaco's Citizen Award in 1989 for her services to education.
