  • The family suffered horribly in WWII. They first went to live and work on a farm in Ravensthorpe, WA. The dwelling consisted of bush poles with walls made of hessian potato sacks with a corrugated steel roof. The wind blew straight through the walls! Freezing in winter (and boiling in Summer). Mum said she thought we would all die from Pneumonia!
