Family initially involved in brickmaking at Cardup amd then Bruce Rock. Returned to Perth in 1966. Mother moved to Bunbury in 1970. Family naturalised Armadale WA 13/12/1956.

My father Michael Virlo came from the village of Pidhirki. He was a slave laborer in Germany during the second world war. After the war, my parents settled in Belgium and later immigrated to the United States.
