Nick Kovalevs completed two years of 'indentured labour' at the Northam Military Camp Power House. Fullfilling the veterinary accreditation requirements, he became, in 1951, the first Veterinary Surgeon in the Augusta-Margaret River District. He was a foundation member of the Margaret River Rotary Club.
