Captured as a 19 year old and spent time in a German Concentration camp as a forced labourer and displaced person before being repatriated to Australia. Initially contracted to work on the railways in SA. Married Maria Surina in 1953 & had daughters Susan and Senia, and grandchildren Brie, Michael and Matthew.
