Five of us brothers & sisters - Antonia, Ivan, Marijan, Ljubica & Georgina accompanied by our mum Ljubica, departed home town of Crikvenica 10/08/1958 aboard a local ship which travelled to the port of Rijeka. The same day we boarded a train & travelled through the capital of Croatia, Zagreb to the port of Genoa in Italy. The trip to Australia was arranged with the shipping company Lloyd Triestino. We boarded the MV Oceania & departed Genoa 15/08/1958. The ship sailed via the Mediterranean Sea, through the Suez Canal, the Red sea & across the Indian Ocean, arriving at Fremantle on Monday 8th September 1958. At the port of Fremantle we were welcomed by our father Marijan who was already residing in Australia & worked as a crayfisherman operating from Fremantle.
