On arriving to Australia, Joe & family temporarily lived in Grass Valley Migrant Camp before settling in Northam. He worked for the railways & had 2 more daughters, Danuta & Teresa. In 1959 Joe transferred to Midland Workshops. He purchased his first family home in West Midland.
