Mihali and brother Ilo travelled not from their native Macedonia but from Romania where they had spend seven years as civil war refugees. In Manjimup Mihali joined more family members. He was a butcher and worked his tobacco farm. Married to Lena they moved to Perth in 1981 with three sons.
