Charles Kilpin was a literate Protestant convicted of arson in Ayslesbury, UK in 1864 aged 27. Granted full pardon 26/7/1871 and worked in Toodyay. Married Louisa Tippett 1876 (38 years) and had 10 children

  • This Charles Kilpin was not born in 1838. He was more likely born in 1841/1842. The newspaper article of his trial says he was 21 at the time of his trial, as do some of the convict records, not 27. The 1838 Charles never left the UK.
