This Charles Kilpin was not born in 1838. He was more likely born in 1841/1842.

This Charles Kilpin was not born in 1838. He was more likely born in 1841/1842. The newspaper article of his trial says he was 21 at the time of his trial, as do some of the convict records, not 27. The 1838 Charles never left the UK.
