Emma Iles married Horace Paull Keegan, a West Australian. He was on leave from active service with the 48th battalion in France. Previously, he had fought with the 16th battalion in Gallipoli. In 1919 Emma and Horace departed from Liverpool, arriving in Fremantle on the troopship Balmoral Castle.
