Jim Kanakis migrated to Fremantle in 1907 as a very young teenager. Settled in Cottesloe & later established a very successful business in Napoleon St, which remained in the family until 1992. He married Klementine Moratis in 1934 also newly arrived. Jim died in 1958. They had a son and daughter.
