Simon travelled to USA from Le Havre, France on ship named "France". Returning home to Mune (Austria) he was conscripted into the Austrian Army and fought on the Russian front in WW1 till the beginning of the Russian Revolution in 1917. Arriving in Australia 1924, worked in various industry sectors, forestry (cutting railway sleepers), mining and construction in WA & NSW. Because of the Depression (no money) WW2 (no travel) did not see his wife again till 1955. Returned with his wife to Australia 1957.
