In 1950 David moved to Ongerup WA. He was employed by farmer Andrew O'Neill. Eventually he acquired virgin land which he developed. David purchased more land adjacent and with his family increased their holding to 9000 acres. The farm at Ongerup produces wool, sheep and grain, managed by sons Glyn (O.G.) and Rick (R.A.) Jones.
