Paul worked for WAGR at Boyup Brook, Harvey and Midland. Maria and Paul were close to the earth, growing their own vegetables, keeping poultry, turkeys, ducks and by 1965 building and paying for their own home at 34 James St, Bassendean. Their only son, John is parish priest at Ballajura.
