Fortunato arrived in Fremantle, WA on 1st March 1953 aged 3 years & 11 months, with his mother, Giuseppina & older brothers, Domenico & Francesco. They came to join his father Michelangelo (arrival 1949), brother Giuseppe (arrival 1951), sister Maria & brother Pasquale (arrival 1952). They settled in Benger, WA & later Brunswick Junction, WA, before moving to Perth in 1956.
