Arrived at Brunswick Junction and begun manual labour at the stone quarry. Lived in a tent whilst saving for the family to follow. Worked for the Railways, Water Authority, Peters Creameries, clearing land and digging potatoes. Later moved to Perth to improve opportunities for the family, worked at Perth City Council.
