William commenced work at Foy & Gibson Pty Ltd 14/12/1911 in grocery department until 13/5/1913. Leaving to help establish father's farm at Yornup, clearing virgin bush, planting orchards, building farm house, barn etc. He stayed on there until 1948 with his wife & daughter, then moved to Perth.
