Read their story

The first ship on which the Hurst family were going to sail for Perth sank off the African coast losing all on board. Their descendants are fortunate to be here at all. John was a Builder, Valuer & General Contractor in the south of England. He established a considerable business in Perth and built several of the town's major buildings. He was a Perth councillor and a respected builder but suffered financially from his investment in mining.
