Des Humphreys grew up in East Fremantle and became a Barber (with Sid Brookes) in Fremantle's High Street (in now demolished shops near St John's Church). He served in the RAAF during WW2. He became the Newsagent and Post Master for Mt Pleasant / Brentwood
