Family stayed in Graylands Hostel until housing was ready for BP employees to move into. Sam attended Fremantle Boys High School. Doris worked at Coles in High Street, Fremantle. Mr Samuel Hume (Snr) started work on the BP Refinery (Kwinana) construction.
