Meinderd owned a motor bike repair shop in Holland. Truus was raised on an orchard & vegetable farm. Upon arrival in Fremantle Meinderd, Truus and 6 boys were sent to Northam Holding Camp. Meinderd worked in the building trade. Truus raised 7 boys. The family lived in Medina and Spearwood.
