Joseph Holloway arrived at Fremantle on the Merchantman on 15/02/1863. He was an unmarried protestant coal miner, convicted in Winchester in 1857 of larceny and given a 10 year sentence. Allotted convict number 6895 he became a labourer in the Murray district. In 1873 he married Elizabeth Holland. They had twelve children, nine of whom survived.

  • I don't actually understand how Joseph arrived in Fremantle in 1863. He was born in 1915

  • That should read "died" instead of "born". 15th of October is actually the date of his death.
