John Swindle Holbrook arrived with his mother Sarah Jane & father followed in 1916. John married Millicent Dukes in 1936. They had four children. Owned a grocery store in Swanbourne 1930 - 1957. Reached the rank of Captain in WWII RAE. At 99 John still lives independently and enjoys a healthy life.

John Swindle Holbrook passed away in 2010 at 105. He lived a long, fruitful life and was much loved by his four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
