Bill and the family settled, and grew up, in Perth. Tragically, the youngest son, Terry, died in a road accident on 1966. Bill lived until 1994, always a happy and proud Australian (but never forgetting his Liverpudlian roots. Hilda died in 2008. Bill and Hilda now have 3 surviving children (Ron, Michael and Janet), 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Their ashes are at the Karrakata cemetry, together with Terry's.
