JCA Hoey came to Albany, Western Australia on 25th March, 1928 from Northern Ireland. He stayed in Albany for a few days before going to Perth with a friend. They stayed at the YMCA in Perth & then at the Freemasons Hotel in Fremantle. His next visit to the Freemasons Hotel was for his Granddaughter, Kerry's 21st birthday on 29th April 1983, fifty years later. JCA worked in various jobs throughout his life. He married in Katanning on 21st December, 1928 & had four children: three daughters (Patricia, Margaret & Dorothy) & one son (John dec 3rd August, 1935).
